I get distracted very easily by animals or beautiful scenery. Don’t mind me if I just shout out “cow!” or “rainbow!” mid-sentence.

What I love most about this job? Experiencing the world through the travellers’ eyes. I’ve been to these places many times, but nothing beats the look on people’s faces experiencing it for the first time.

Fair warning: I know the best coffee spot in every destination, and I can't start the day without one.

When to Travel
Late summer through autumn (August-October) is prime time: warm weather, fewer crowds, stunning scenery. Switzerland's lakes are crystal blue in summer (June-July). Autumn turns Innsbruck golden with snow-capped Alps. Venice glows in late summer with classical music echoing through candlelit alleyways.
Local Flavours
Venice's pasta alla seppia is jet black with squid ink and surprisingly delicious. Austria's Viennese schnitzel arrives warm, crunchy, and literally the size of your head. Amsterdam's stroopwafels are best plain. Trust me on this. France? Fresh baguette with salted butter, eaten like a local at breakfast.
Insider Advice
Cash is king across Europe. Always carry it, but split between pockets and bags for safety. Buy a Swiss plug adapter before you arrive! Standard European plugs won't fit Swiss sockets (but Swiss plugs work everywhere else). And embrace early starts. The best light, empty streets, and that first coffee before crowds arrive make it worth it.
Must-Do Experiences
Glacier 3000 is one of my favourite experiences: tobogganing through snow, crossing Europe's highest suspension bridge, then warming up with hot chocolate. The Prague Folk Show at the Folklore Garden is a must-do. Guaranteed laughs, dancing, and pure joy. Getting sprayed up close at the Rhine Falls tops it all off.
