Rhine River Cruise, Switzerland & Paris Touring

Welcome to Amsterdam! Meet up with your tour leader and fellow travellers at the designated start hotel and gather for a short overview of what’s waiting for you over the next few days. Then, settle in and freshen up before enjoying a welcome dinner at a classic Dutch restaurant.

After breakfast, travel to Zaanse Schans to explore the iconic Dutch windmills and traditional village. From there, you'll visit a traditional dutch farm for a cheese and clogs experience. Next, head to Volendam’s waterfront for an included lunch before your transfer to the cruise pier, where you will embark on your Rhine River Cruise. Tonight, enjoy cocktails and dinner on board.

Today, Amsterdam is your playground! Do some sightseeing, stroll through the Rijksmuseum Gardens, or find a cosy coffee spot. Alternatively, opt for the Taste of Amsterdam optional experience with a Stroopwafel workshop and cheese tasting. You can also book the Amsterdam Signature Experience this afternoon, including a visit to the Heineken brewery and a canal cruise through the charming Jordaan neighbourhood.

Wake up in Nijmegen, the Netherlands’ oldest city. Revel in 2000+ years of Roman history, medieval architecture, the tranquil River Waal and the WW2 battlefields. Opt for the Nijmegen & Western Front Walking Tour that takes you to key historic sites like Operation Market Garden and the Waal Bridge, where American paratroopers landed in 1944. This afternoon, the cruise departs for Cologne.

This morning, say hello to Cologne from the deck, or step out for a stroll to the Cologne Cathedral. Then, continue down the spectacular Rhine Gorge via Koenigswinter as the river narrows between steep vineyard-clad hills this afternoon. Watch medieval castles and fortresses pass you by in this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Tonight, you’ll dock in Koblenz.

Sail through the UNESCO-listed Upper Middle Rhine Valley this morning, watching the Lorelei rock, terraced vineyards and castles glide past from the sun deck, before arriving in Mainz, birthplace of the printing press, for lunch on board. This afternoon, explore independently or join the optional Gutenberg Museum tour, taking in Mainz Cathedral, the Chagall windows and the Old Town. Tonight, dance the evening away after dinner as the ship sails on towards Strasbourg.

Today, sail into Strasbourg! Explore this unique Franco-German city at your own pace or join the optional Strasbourg City Tour & Canal Boat Cruise. See the Gothic masterpiece of Strasbourg Cathedral, admire the grand Place de la République and see the Petite France quarter from the water. Tonight, attend the Gala Dinner on board, a special celebration of this cruise.

Spend the morning taking in scenic Breisach, or book an optional excursion to Colmar to explore "Little Venice" and its network of canals. This afternoon, explore Breisach on a guided walking tour including attractions like the vineyard-covered hill of Eckartsberg and the Radbrunnturm, a medieval tower housing a wheel well. Tonight, savour your last night on the cruise ship.  

Today, you’ll disembark in Basel and kick off the next part of your adventure. Experience a decadent Swiss chocolate tasting, then journey on to Zurich, your home for tonight. Here, you have free time to explore and grab lunch before an orientation walk through the city. Dinner of Swiss classics at a local restaurant is included this evening.

After breakfast, head to Lucerne where you'll uncover the city on a guided tour. Later, explore further at your own pace, or opt for the Lucerne Lake Cruise excursion for lunch on the water. Continue on to Interlaken, and take the funicular ride to Harder Kulm for views of the Swiss Alps. The evening is yours to unwind and spend as you like.

Enjoy a free day in Interlaken to relax in Höhematte Park or stroll along the shores of Lake Thun. Alternatively, join the optional Jungfraujoch excursion and ride the Jungfrau Railway to the “Top of Europe” for glacier views and snow-capped peaks. This evening, book the optional Alpine Dinner Experience for traditional cuisine, or seek out a lovely dinner spot yourself.

Travel through the Swiss countryside to the UNESCO-listed Lavaux Vineyards for a wine tasting with a light lunch. Next, head to France and the charming town of Beaune, famous for its medieval streets and Burgundy wine heritage. After an orientation walk, enjoy free time to explore the town and have dinner at your leisure before checking into your hotel for the night.

Today, you’ll reach Paris! See the countryside village of Vézelay, home to the magnificent UNESCO-listed Basilica of Sainte-Madeleine and a starting point of the Camino de Santiago. Then, soak up the grandeur of Fontainebleau, its palace and the surrounding forest, before heading to Paris. Enjoy a panoramic driving tour of the city, followed by an included dinner this evening.

Paris is yours today. Stroll through parks or museums and sit down for coffee and croissants. Alternatively, join the optional excursion, Elegant Paris, including a perfume demonstration, the Palais Garnier opera house, and lunch overlooking the Seine. This evening, opt for the tour of Montmartre and enjoy a guided walk, ride the funicular and explore the museum, concluding with a traditional French dinner.

Travel from France to the Netherlands with a stop in the Belgian city of Ghent. Enjoy an orientation tour followed by free time before continuing to Kinderdijk. Here, snap some photos of the iconic windmills, a true Dutch symbol. Then, reach Amsterdam and end off the day with a farewell dinner on your last tour night, celebrating this unforgettable journey.

After a last breakfast, say your farewells, exchange contact details with your new travel buddies and make your way home. Or, extend your tour by spending some more time in Amsterdam.
