Today, you’ll meet the people you will remember for the rest of your life, while seeing the best of Europe from its rails. If you’re starting in London, meet your Tour Director at St Pancras and board the Eurostar to Paris in a little over two hours. Or, meet the group in Paris a little later. Either way, you're at the same table by dinner.

This afternoon, it's straight into a vintage Citroën 2CV for a drive past all the famous attractions. This city tour is the kind that turns a first day into a story you're still telling on day nine. As the light changes, you're on the Seine for dinner: three courses, Paris going past the window.

First class to Zurich on the TGV Lyria, a high-speed train that reaches up to 320 km/h. Lunch is served on board while Burgundy's vineyards and the rooftops of Dijon slip past the window. You're checked into the hotel by the afternoon.

Then, a local guide takes you through Zurich. Not the highlight reel, the version that actually explains why things are where they are. Dinner is included tonight, with a chance to settle into the city over a proper Swiss-German meal.

On to Interlaken, with a stop in Lucerne first, and free time to explore it on your own. The lake, the mountains behind it, architecture that's been standing long before anyone thought to photograph it. They’re all yours. Visit the Glacier Garden if that's your thing, or find lunch by the water if it isn't.

Then the Luzern-Interlaken Express to Interlaken: waterfalls, villages, the kind of Alpine scenery that makes conversation on the train drop off for a while. This evening, perhaps walk down Höheweg, the main street, to get lost among the many Swiss watch and chocolate shops.

Today promises Alpine wonder at its finest. Start on Lake Thun, first-class seating on the Upper Deck, with Alpine villages and mountains going by on both sides.
Then the day's centrepiece: Jungfraujoch, Europe's highest railway station. Up by Eiger Express gondola from Grindelwald to Eigergletscher, then the Jungfrau Railway does the rest of the climb. At the top: the Aletsch Glacier, an Ice Palace carved into the glacier itself, panoramic terraces, and lunch at the “Top of Europe”. 

By now, you’ll find yourself in a seat next to the stranger you first met in the hotel lobby, sending each other the selfies you took together today. The evening's yours to find a quiet dinner back in Interlaken, reflecting on the day you’ve experienced.

Board the GoldenPass Express – a fully panoramic train – and ride through valleys and villages on the way to Montreux. Get ready to transition from snow-capped alpine peaks to rolling green hills, traditional Swiss chalet villages, and finally, sun-drenched lakeside vineyards. You're there by early afternoon: time enough for the promenade, the shops, or lunch looking out over Lake Geneva.

From there, it's on to Zermatt, where the Matterhorn awaits. Your Tour Leader knows the town and can tell you what to see and what to skip. Later, check into the hotel for dinner.

Today, the Matterhorn Express from Zermatt towards Trockener Steg, then continue by cable car to Matterhorn Glacier Paradise at 3,883 metres, Europe’s highest mountain station. Step onto the 360° viewing platform, with peaks stretching out in every direction.

Explore the Glacier Palace, 15 metres below the glacier surface, where ice sculptures and tunnels have been carved into the ice. Then sit down to lunch at Europe’s highest mountain restaurant, with the Matterhorn framed in the window. Enjoy some free time before taking the cable car back down to Zermatt whenever you’re ready. Tonight, make the most of the hotel’s spa facilities for a relaxing end to the day.

Today, experience one of the world's most legendary train journeys. Watch viaducts, alpine valleys, gorges, and the UNESCO-listed Rhaetian Railway’s landscapes unfolding outside the window.

You’ll see the Rhine Gorge, known as the "Grand Canyon of Switzerland," with its towering, chalky-white limestone cliffs. The train winds through the gorge, with views of the Rhine River along parts of the route. You’ll also cross the Landwasser Viaduct, one of the route’s iconic engineering marvels, as the train glides across its spectacular 65-metre-high, single-track curved limestone structure.

Enjoy lunch along the way, served directly to your seat. By evening, you're in St. Moritz for the night.

Into Italy today on the Bernina Express. The train is an experience in itself: spacious seating, dome windows. An engineering marvel. The train conquers mind-boggling vertical drops entirely on its own power. It’s one of the world's steepest adhesion railways. You’ll get treated to another UNESCO-listed railway landscape, including the Brusio Circular Viaduct, built to manage the steep mountain.

Look out the window as the Alps give way to the Italian lakeside. Change trains in Milan, on to Venice by Frecciarossa, which translates to “red arrow.” A gondola takes you to dinner tonight; a private water taxi brings you back. This is the last one together, and the one where emotions might surface. Let them.

Your unforgettable journey ends in Venice. After saying farewell to the group, you can choose to continue exploring Venice by yourself. 

Whenever you head home, you’ll take the tour with you. The Citroën in Paris. The Matterhorn coming into view. Whoever you ended up sitting next to on the Glacier Express. None of that stays behind when the tour ends.
